ADV allows you to configure a host for remote desktop services on a computer as a client, and then use that user's session to run remote desktop services on the computer.

The following is an example of how to set up a Windows Server 2012 R2 server as a virtual desktop computer:

1. Open the following command in a PowerShell session on the host computer.

Get-ADComputer -Filter {$_.Name -eq "WinServer2012R2"}

2. In the command prompt, type the following command to enable a virtual desktop on the server.

New-ADVirtualDesktop -ServerName WinServer2012R2 -IPAddress 192.168.1.50 -ComputerName WinServer2012R2

3. In the command prompt, type the following command to create a custom virtual desktop.

New-ADVirtualDesktop -Name "ServerName1"
