i want to only date should be displayed...

I have MOSS 2007. Frequently sharepoint will ask for login credentials when
going to the site, opening a document, etc even though it should be (and is)
getting the credentials from Windows. Usually I can just hit Cancel to the
login prompt and I can get in/open the document or do whatever I was doing.
This does not always happen, however. Sometimes it doesn't prompt me and
lets me through as it should...

Depends on if a given site is marked as being trusted. Check your IE security settings to find out what sites might be in a given zone.

hello im creating an purchasing portal

this is the scenario :

user post the request and if this user are from Department IT it will
notify the IT manager and ask him to aprove it .. if the user are from
department Admin .. it will notify the Admin manager to aprove it

so i create the workflow using sharepoint Designer .. the problem
is .. the workflow as i see cannot read a column from the user
profile...

I'd like to attach a link to an image that I have placed on one of my pages.  I'm currently using the Image Web part to place the image, but am open to changing the type of web part if that is what it will take to solve the issue.  I'm strictly using Sharepoint, not Frontpage.

When I create the PDF it asks me where to store it. I have a shortcut to my sharepoint drive and select it. I cannot see the sharepoint folders and Adobe says it cannot connect to sharepoint (other applications can).

You can check if your version of Adobe support WebDAV, which is the protocol which allow to do what you want to do

I want to conditionally alter the style of the web part header, for some web parts i would want to have a rounded corner, whereas for some i want to have the normal rectangle headers.

You could use PageLayouts for this. Override the css file for the webpart appearance. So if you create a page of one kind it gets different appearance than other pages depending on the different css file. Just use @import("<path to css>"); in the page layout and you will get a good result.

I use page viewer on my site to display reports from other websites.  I would like these embedded sites to display only the report, not the navigation template/menus.  I had a url modifier that worked for 1 site in particular, but I can't get it to work on any other ones (see below.)  Does anyone have a solution for this?  Thanks!

We are able to edit the fields of a list in sharepoint. However, after exporting to excel, some users are experiencing an issue when trying to edit these same fields and are unable to do so. They receive and error "The [field] is a read-only column that cannot be modified". Permissions appear to be fine and they can edit the list fields fine as long as they are in sharepoint. Any ideas?

Office 2003 SP3 has this issue. There is a hotfix available:

I am trying to export sharepoint list to spreadsheet,but getting erro after giving path for saving after that unable to open in spreadsheet.i have attached error screenshot.

this issue has been resolved....user was using office Xp 2002.

it fixed in office 2003.

It's not returning results for anything I put in there, whether it be a valid filename, part of the filename, or content within a file such as a word doc, everything returns 0 results.

 

Is there something I need to enable to get this to work?

I had the same problem.  Can't believe it's not a more common complaint!

Frontpage will not make a difference. There is something else going on if you dont have a datasheet view. Make sure that your list has a datasheet view to it. If someone on your team modified the list in FrontPage then you most likely have a ghosting issue. Actually it is an Unghosting issue. If the user with FrontPage can see the datasheet view in FrontPage and not SharePoint...

I use a Content editor webpart to create link lists. This allows me to open in whatever windows I want.  I'm sure if you can get an SQL script written that will open links in new windows but unless you are an admin, it probably won't happen. When we open a word document that is stored in a document library in moss 2007, we can edit the document but we can only 'save as'; we cannot save the document right into the document library. We can save the document on the local computer and upload it into the document library.

 

When we were using wss 2.0, this problem did not arise.

By Explorer View?  By "save prompt"?  By how?

IE and Office version is important for some kind of operation.

I uploaded the documents earlier in WSS2.0 but it doesn't make any difference. In explorer View I can save the documents! When I open the document in Internet Explorer Word does not open. When I clicl the W, then Word opens and the 'save as' menu-item is available. Unfortunately, the Word document is read-only. I do not understand why, because I have full controll and I can edit in explorer view.

I have MOSS and Project Server 2007 installed on a system and have added users to the portal owners group. These users are getting errors when they try to edit a web part on the Portal Page.

Even the user account which was used to build the portal is unable to edit the web parts.

Has anyone seen this before and if so how was it fixed.
